The New England Chocolate Festival brings you together with over three dozen chocolate companies and cacao producers to taste, learn, and interact. The companies invited to participate in the Festival have all been hand-selected for their focus on quality and ethics. They prize craftsmanship and flavor excellence while sourcing ingredients in a transparent manner. Nearly all of our companies hail from New England, with special invited guests from around the world. This year, we are celebrating cacao and chocolate from the Dominican Republic and our neighbors in Quebec.

The Festival is comprised of two parts:

Chocolate Pavilion

The Chocolate Pavilion is an all-day marketplace with fun for the whole family on Saturday, October 12, 2019, from 10 AM to 6 PM at the Cyclorama at Boston Center for the Arts.

Pavilion highlights:

  • Over three dozen chocolate makers, chocolatiers, cacao producers, and related vendors selling and sampling their wares
  • Guest artists Maestro Juan Alonso of Mexico and Laurel Greenfield of Boston demonstrating their craft
  • A Chocolate Sensorium, an exhibit space devoted to hands-on sensory exploration of the cacao- and chocolate-producing process
  • A café with coffee drinks to pair with your favorite Pavilion finds

Chocolate Education Program

The Chocolate Eduation Program will consist of dozens of classes over the course of two weeks in five states.

  • Workshops and demos with expert professionals
  • Choctoberfest pairings with local breweries
  • Tastings, pairings, lectures, film showings, book discussions, and more
  • Fun opportunities for the whole family

The New England Chocolate Festival is organized by the Fine Cacao and Chocolate Institute (FCCI) - a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to identifying, developing, and promoting fine cacao and chocolate - in collaboration with a number of partners. Any proceeds support FCCI.

Our mission is to educate the public about conscious consumerism of chocolate through sampling, selling, lectures, workshops, and more.

The second annual New England Chocolate Festival will bring the public together with more than three dozen chocolate companies to taste, learn, and interact. The New England-based companies invited to participate in the Festival have all been hand-selected for their focus on quality and ethics: they privilege craftsmanship and flavor excellence all while sourcing ingredients in a transparent manner. They are also devoted to their home communities and suppliers.

Additionally, several cacao producers who work with these companies will be in attendance from countries such as Brazil, Dominican Republic, Ghana, Haiti, Mexico, Peru, Thailand, and Venezuela. This will provide attendees a unique opportunity to meet in person the producers behind featured products.

The main event of the festival, the Chocolate Pavilion, will feature chocolate makers, chocolatiers, cacao producers, and related vendors selling and sampling their wares and interacting directly with attendees.

The festival will also feature a full lecture and workshop series throughout the entire month of October, a Chocolate Sensorium (an exhibit space devoted to hands-on sensory exploration of the cacao- and chocolateproducing process for children and adults alike), a café with coffee and chocolate drinks and pastries, featured artists and artisans crafting their wares in real-time, and more. This educational programming will be led by industry experts and celebrities from around the world.
